Check-up for smokers
If you want to know whether your nicotine consumption has damaged your lungs or bronchial tubes, you should have a lung screening performed with multislice computed tomography, and a virtual bronchoscopy to evaluate your respiratory tract.
During a CT lung screening, even small changes in the lung tissue and pleura can be detected, and a virtual bronchoscopy, which is also based on multislice technology, can detect and interpret the smallest peculiarities in the bronchial tubes. Both of these methods are extremely low in radiation.
